Why We Exist

What It Looks Like in Practice

At St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, our mission isn’t painted on a wall—it’s lived in bread, grace, and community. Some churches have mission statements. We have a calling etched on our hearts.

We don’t follow Jesus because it’s easy.
We follow him because he called us.

Living the Mission of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church

We exist to be the Church in this place:

  • To speak God’s love with clarity in a world that’s confused by hate.
  • To be a shelter of welcome in a time of division and exile.
  • To nourish the spirit with Word and Sacrament—and send people out to live the Gospel in ways that matter.
  • To walk with the weary, to laugh with the joyful, and to mourn with the brokenhearted.
  • To remind one another—week after week—that resurrection is real, grace is free, and love still wins.

This is what it means to be a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. This is what it means to be a part of the US Episcopal Church. Our mission reflects the Five Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion.

This is our mission.
It isn’t printed on the bulletin board.
It’s lived out in the breaking of bread, the caring of community, the feeding of the hungry, and the sharing of joy.

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
And we’re still answering that call—together.
